The Professor is in!
J. Budziszewski (Boo-jee-shef-ski) — a.k.a. "Professor Theophilus" — is here to help you tackle the tough issues.

Part advisor, part mentor, Professor Theophilus puts things in perspective and explains how your worldview underwrites not only your lifestyle, but also the decisions you make. Something more about Professor Theophilus

Term of the Week

Ecumenical

Function: adjective

Definition: pertaining to the whole Christian church. (from Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1))

Use in a sentence: On Elizabeth's campus was an Ecumenical Campus Ministry, which sought to bring together Christians of various faith traditions.

Mis-use in a sentence: In order to encourage men from all different walks of life to get their yearly checkups, a group of doctors decided to start a system of clinics for men called "Ecumenical."

Use in an article: In his latest Ask Theophilus column, J. Budziszewski (a.k.a., Professor Theophilus) addresses a reader's question about the ins and outs of baptism. Since the reader doesn't provide too many details, the professor answers her question "in an ecumenical spirit," covering aspects of baptism upon which the vast majority of Christians agree. If you've ever had questions about baptism, then we highly recommend your read Prof Theo's answer.
